Unveiling midcrustal seismic activity at the front of the bolivian altiplano, Cochabamba region.
Brief Description: The seismic catalog presented in ISF format herein is the culmination of six months of continuous seismic monitoring conducted in the Cochabamba department. This endeavor falls within the scope of the temporary project titled "Vigilancia de la sismicidad y micro sismicidad del Oroclino Boliviano" (POB). As part of this initiative, a network comprising eleven seismic stations was established in the Cochabamba department through collaboration with the "Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique - Département analyse, surveillance, environnement" (CEA-DASE), "Université Côte-d'Azur – GeoAzur," and the "Gobernación de Cochabamba." The primary objective of this project is to document mid-crustal microseismicity occurring within the Main Thrust fault shear zone and its associated hangingwall. These investigations are conducted within a region affected by tectonic slivers and transverse faults, which have a significant impact on the sedimentary cover. The findings obtained from this study offer valuable insights into the seismogenic behavior of the fault system and its potential implications across the Bolivian orocline.

The project was developed within the framework of the PhD work of the first author. It benefited from the long-lasting collaboration between CEA-DASE, France and OSC, Bolivia. We are grateful to all the Jesuit Societies in Bolivia, as well as to the OSC Directory, which allowed the first author to prepare a doctoral thesis. We are very grateful to the Gobernacion of Cochabamba, especially to Dr. Fernando Fernandez (head of the UGR) and his team for authorizing and facilitating the exchanges with the local communities while designing and maintaining the network. We are grateful to Stéphane Legarrec, head of DASE, and to François Schindelé, who facilitated the project; to Olivier Bresson and Fabrice Lepoint for their participation in the design and preparation of the experiment; to Nicolas Wendling-vazquez and Marine Laporte for early exchanges on the geophysical workflow and parameters.
